Our Test Kitchen: When it comes to developing consumer-based recipes, no one does it better than our seasoned team of home economists. Patty Rosenthal, our vice president of Culinary Development, continues to do an artful job following the Quick & Easy philosophy on which our company was built. Every recipe must use only off-the-shelf ingredients, contain simple-to-read directions, and be triple-tested to ensure that it works flawlessly every time.
Our Editorial Team: This is where we really roll up our sleeves. Every recipe goes through multiple stages of editing and then goes back to the Test Kitchen to be tested again, ensuring that every recipe turns out just right – and it doesn’t stop there! After that, kitchen tips and hints are added, the stories behind the recipes are crafted, and then it’s off to our proofreading team to make sure we’ve dotted our “i”s and crossed our “t”s.
Our Photographers and Stylists: We don’t simply take a photo of the recipe; our goal is to tell a story. Whether you’re looking to achieve a simple, elegant look or something a bit more whimsical, we can and will create it. Once that’s done, we’ll pair it with our extensive prop warehouse; we’ve got everything from barn wood to the glitz and glitter of Hollywood. We like to approach food styling as though you’re about to dig in to each dish, not just look at it. And no worries if you drool, we recommend cookbook pages with a glossy finish, making clean up a breeze.
Our Analytical Team: When it comes to selecting recipes for each book, we approach this analytically rather than lying on our gut feeling. Having the ability to draw upon our two hugely popular recipe websites as well as our robust social media platform, we have the ability to evaluate what consumers are craving. This keeps our content fresh and relevant.
Our Designers: We pride ourselves in presenting content that is visually appealing and easy-to-read. We know when to use larger fonts and when to get playful with our graphic elements. Our graphics department’s goal is to complement our content and photos, not to detract from them.
Our Q&A Team: To us, quality and assurance is the icing on the cake. We work exceptionally hard to make sure that the colors in every photo are true, the print and binding of our cookbooks is perfect, and that the consumer is getting a product that not only meets our high standards, but exceeds them. This reduces returns and builds loyalty based on quality.
Our Talent: Whether we use our on-air talent or yours, we have crafted the art of presenting cookbooks and key messages on TV and at trade shows. After carefully selecting the recipes to be incorporated into the presentation, we create drool-worthy demos to bring them to life – and we’ve mastered the ability of maximizing the time allotted for sales purposes. This is the difference that many overlook but to us, this is just the cherry on the sundae.
